How are BlueGuard socks so durable?

BlueGuard socks are made with eight high-strength filament polymers, bound and engineered to create a lifetime guaranteed anti-abrasion yarn that can stand up to hundreds of hours of rough treatment. That’s not just marketing hype – the Blueguard fabric’s been put to the test in an independent lab to standard BS EN 13770:2002. Scientists found that the fabric can withstand up to 925,000 cycles of continuous rubbing before it breaks down and a hole appears. To put that in perspective, normal branded sports socks can take around 20,000 cycles before giving out, and even branded work socks can only manage 40,000. In other words, BlueGuard are more than 46 times more durable than a standard sport sock.

What is BS EN 13770:2002?

This is a British & International standard that measures the abrasion resistance of a fabric using the Martindale Method, also know as the Martindale rub test. The textile sample is rubbed against an abrasive surface in cycles by a Martindale machine. BlueGuard socks have been proven to achieve 925,000 cycles.

Are BlueGuard socks comfortable?

All that strength doesn’t mean you have to compromise on comfort. BlueGuard socks have a cotton-rich body, a ventilation panel, arch support, an extended heel and a full cushion on the sole, so your feet stay warm and comfortable all day long.
